Who We Are

Our attorneys have extensive experience serving clients in all aspects of estate planning and family business planning.

As strategic partner to our clients, we help evaluate and pursue legal strategies that meet philanthropic, business, and wealth transfer goals, while simplifying estate plans wherever possible.

In addition to preparing the legal documents for your estate plans, our staff helps ensure your trust is fully “funded.” Funding your trust is the process of transferring your assets from you to your trust. To do this, the titles of your assets are changed from your individual name (or joint names, if married) to the name of your trust. Beneficiary designations are also changed. Our staff will assist you with this process, coordinating with your financial advisors and others for up to 60 days after the signing of your estate planning documents.

As strategic partner to our clients, we help evaluate and pursue legal strategies that meet philanthropic, business, and wealth transfer goals, while simplifying estate plans wherever possible. We provide estate planning for simple and complex situations, and employ a wide variety of tax and business planning techniques, including: limited liability companies, family limited partnerships, intentionally defective grantor trusts, life insurance trusts, charitable remainder trusts, and charitable lead trusts.

Whether you have lost a spouse, parent or other loved one, we will guide you through the trust administration process compassionately and efficiently. We work closely with financial advisors and accountants to marshal and value the assets of the estate, settle claims against the settlor's estate, and transfer trust assets to the intended beneficiaries as quickly as possible. We are able to file federal estate tax returns if required.

Probate is the legal process of proving the validity of a will and distributing a person’s property after their passing. At Mugg Winston, it is is our goal to make this journey as simple and easy for our clients as possible. We take as much as we can off your plate so you can focus on what matters.

If you need help creating, maintaining, or planning for your small business, Mugg Winston is here! We assist in filing the documents you need to remain in good standing, keeping minute books up to date, and many other aspects of managing your small or family business. In addition to helping clients create and plan for their businesses, Mugg Winston’s attorneys serve as the registered agent for hundreds of Oklahoma companies.

Our goal is to give you confidence that your assets and health matters will be handled efficiently and as you desire.
